The Arena is a Place. Within the Arena players fight waves of Enemies.
Access[]
The Arena is accessible from Champion's Gate, west-southwest from Heoborea through Kolheim Pass. north from the spawn point through a red portal.
In order to access the Arena, a player must spend an Arena Key, which can be earned as a drop from specific nodes in the Monolith of Fate, or as an optional reward from an Arena run. Mobs in the empowered Monolith of Fate may also drop them.
Mechanics[]
In the Arena, the player faces swarms of enemies in a confined space as endurance trials. Waves enter after one another from pink-glowing ritual circles in the arena. Shrines are also spawned upon entering the level.
As waves are completed, the wave counter will go up, and so do the health and damage of the mobs, as well as the Experience that is awarded for killing them. Groups of enemies spawned in each wave scale in strength and level as the players progress. The Arena run is brought to an end, if all party members are downed.
After every fifth wave, a number of Containers are spawned that scale with the player's level, as well as the Stash, and downed players may respawn. To continue to the next wave, all players must interact with a panel. Upon doing so, leftover items, containers and the Stash are removed.
With every 10 waves completed, the arena will continue in a random map. Before progressing, participating players must choose one out of two modifiers, or forfeit the run. Doing the former enhances drops from the arena boss, while also increasing enemy damage and health.
Arena Boss[]
At predetermined spots, one of the three Arena Champions will enter by themselves to fight. These characters are loosely based on a player character archetype and use various skills from their arsenals. Killing the Boss will make them drop their unique item, along various assorted other loot.

- Vaion the Arsenal (Sentinel)
- The Crimson Blade (Rogue)
- Alfrig Wolfmaw (Primalist)
Types of Arena[]
Arena of Champions[]
This arena is a 40-wave endurance round available in four tiers (like Dungeons). After the final wave, one of the Arena Champions must be fought to complete the run successfully. Successful runs also unlock the next tier.
Endless Arena[]
This arena puts the players' abilities to the limit. It is available when a player character reaches level 60.
Here, waves continue to come until all players succumb to the pressure. One Arena Champion enters at wave 90.
