Apophis is a high priestess and trusted advisor of Majasa. As a Vessel Maiden, she serves as a conduit for Majasa's magical powers, containing them and when the time comes, sacrificing herself to sustain her goddess's renewal.

History[]

Introduction: The Maiden's Vision

In the divine era, Apophis became one of the Vessel Maidens, one of the most revered priestesses for Majasa. She has always born with contempt towards the humans, whom Majasa treated with equal rights and granted them her gifts. After the Scalebanes failed to bring instability in the desert lands, Apophis goes on to call on the power of Orobyss from the future.

Apophis seals herself off in Majasa's temple, away from the world, where her countless faithful servants would protect her. The Traveler encounters her in the lower sanctum, who she desperately tries to keep off by summoning her Nagasa and eventually Void entities from the future. Eventually, she flees, leaving countless rifts open to the dark future, from where the creatures of dread swarm.

In a lower level, the Traveler oversees the revenge of Apophis, who tells Majasa that she finally had enough of her eternal sustenance, and she doesn't want to get the same fate. The benevolent Majasa tries to pardon her, but Apophis binds her goddess with Void Magic, infiltrating her mind and corrupting it. She then leaves to the Chamber of Vessels, letting the twisted Majasa do the dirty work of disposing of the Traveler, while she starts channeling Void magic.

Majasa is however defeated by the Traveler. Just as they get to her, Apophis finishes channeling, and admits that she won't die thanks to the powers of Orobyss. Then, she draws power from the Epoch and travels forward in time, bringing the Traveler with herself.
